Mental Health Consultancy: Consulting Through Expert Mental Health Practitioners Social services having moved on, operationally, five years since the Falkov Report (1996), which points to parental psychiatric morbidity as a possible cause of child mortality, it is still not clear whether fundamental issues crucial to addressing this 'problem' have been addressed. These issues include social workers' ability to: assess parents' parenting capacity; determine the parenting skills of adults with psychiatric difficulties who care for children; and obtain additional services for the children of MI parents. What is also an unknown factor is the degree to which information about psychiatric clients are shared on an intra-agency basis - one crucial prerequisite for effective service provision in the interest of CP. Working in partnership with Social Services, this Consultancy makes determined efforts to protect children. It advises and supports child care and mental health workers forge effective links in their effort to work together to support families, and protect children from significant harm |
Child Protection Consultancy: Putting The Interest Of The Child First - Providing A Voice For Society's Most Vulnerable Child protection is by no means a faddish issue but is an issue that is supported by statute. it is a requirement of local authorities, social services, social services departments or sub-agencies, family courts, schools, and related agencies, The services that this Consultancy provides in the are of child protection include: Risk identification or Risk assessment Risk management Supervision for social care workers Performance management Family support; and child protection

Child Adoption Consultancy: How To Ensure That The Most Effective 'Placement' Takes Place - Finding The Right Match, in The Long-Term Interest of The Child Child adoption is a feasible alternative to Residential Care, both being problematic. HRODC advises and establishes the mechanism that will facilitate effective ways in which Local Authorities and Adoption Agencies might work together to ensure better outcome for adopted children. It provides guidance on pre-adoption evaluation and post-adoption monitoring, in an effort to improve child-adopter compatibility and reduce the likelihood of a relationship breakdown. In all our effort, the interest of the child is treated as paramount. |
Inter-Agency Collaboration Consultancy: Making Inter-Agency and Intra-Agency Communication Most Effective The Children Act 1989, Working Together (Department of Health, 1991) Falkov Report (1996), Framework For The Assessment Of Children In Need And Their Families (Department of Health, Sept. 1999), and Working Together To Safeguard Children (Department of Health, 1999) have, together, made prescriptions on the way that children and adult services should operate. These prescriptions incorporate the degree of collaboration and communication that these social services sub-agencies should achieve, in the interest of children, particularly where their parents are experiencing psychiatric difficulties. Social Services can and should play a key role in interagency collaboration. HRODC, using evidence from recent empirical research in social services operation, which it conducts, helps social services to improve the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration efforts—focusing on: Communication and information sharing in an intra-agency setting Social Workers’ accessing of available information—improving their (social workers') perception of the influence that it has on their practice Recording of routine information on family composition and household membership Information sharing across social services sections Social Workers’ role in facilitating clients’ access to support services. Analysing social services client-related Information Using social services research, health-related research and inter-disciplinary research to inform social care practice
